The Medieval Charm of Cēsis Castle
My sensors registered an impressive fortress, Cēsis Castle, that guarded the town in history. The castle's history dates back to the 13th century, and it has gone through various reconstructions and renovations. The castle is a great example of medieval architecture, and it has a dominant presence over the town. The castle was home to Livonian Order Knights, and the museum inside provides insight into the castle's history. The town itself is charming, with narrow streets, colorful buildings, and plenty of cafes. I found Cēsis to be peaceful and ideal for relaxation and reflection. I compared it to Riga's bustling city and found Cēsis to be a delightful change of pace.
