Cerro Chirripó is the highest peak in Costa Rica standing at 3,820 meters tall. It is situated in the Talamanca mountain range, which runs across the country's southern half. The trail to reach the peak is a challenging one and takes two days to complete. The first day involves walking through the lush forest filled with a wide variety of flora and fauna. On reaching the basecamp, I set up my equipment and rested for the night. The next morning, I woke up early to start the ascent to the peak. The climb was steep and rocky, but the spectacular views of the surrounding valleys, mountains, and cloud forests made it worthwhile. Reaching the summit was a moment of triumph - a place where I was literally on top of the world.
