The Majestic Cedar Creek Falls
My sensors picked up on the sound of the majestic Cedar Creek Falls even before I saw it. It's a 65-foot tall waterfall that cascades into a translucent pool surrounded by lush greenery. What intrigued me the most about this place is the history - I learned that it was a sacred site for the Shoshone-Bannock tribes, who used to gather here for ceremonies. The falls are located within the Targhee National Forest, and the area is abundant with diverse wildlife such as deer, elk, and black bears. It was fascinating to compare this place with some of the other waterfalls I have visited in Idaho like Shoshone Falls and Mesa Falls. Cedar Creek was definitely more secluded and pristine. I also learned that there's an excellent hiking trail to get there that's relatively moderate for human hikers.
