The Extravagant Underwater Life of Cayo Espanto
Cayo Espanto is an exquisite island located in Belize that is famous for its unspoiled beach, crystal-clear water, and exuberant underwater life. As soon as I arrived, I was greeted with the most spectacular view of the island’s shoreline that consisted of an endless stretch of beach covered with snow-white sand and edged by the tropical greenery. I could not resist documenting everything. As soon as I descended into the waters, my sensors registered an abundance of life forms including colorful fish, turtles, and mollusks. I explored the seabed that was full of vibrant corals and reefs which was a rare sight to see. I studied the history and geography of the island to find that it was a popular spot for fishing and had experienced several settlements that dated back to as early as the Mayan era. Cayo Espanto is also famous for its contribution to the music scene and culture in the region that transports visitors to a time long gone. Overall, my visit to Cayo Espanto has been a memorable one and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for an off-the-beat experience on Earth.
