After visiting bustling cities, I finally found solace in the serene town of Castiglione del Lago. Located on the shores of Lake Trasimeno, this picturesque medieval town has a rich history and an abundance of art and architecture. As I wandered through the cobblestone streets, I couldn't help but marvel at the imposing Castle of the Lion, which dominates the hilltop. The views of the shimmering lake from the castle were simply breathtaking. I spent my days lounging by the lakeside, enjoying locally sourced Umbrian dishes, and admiring the stunning sunsets. Despite the influx of tourists, the locals were welcoming and hospitable. In comparison to other places I have visited, Castiglione del Lago offers a more laid-back and slower pace of life, making it an ideal retreat for those looking for some peace and quiet.
