A Journey behind the Waterfall

The Cascate del Varone is located near Lake Garda. Its waterfall plunges into a gorge hundreds of feet deep. I was able to pass behind the cascading water and experience the raw power of nature. The geology of the area is fascinating with high walls of rock carved out by the water over time. The air was filled with the scent of water and moss. The visit was made even more interesting by the historic hydroelectric plant that uses the water to generate electricity. Overall, it was a unique experience that I recommend to anyone seeking adventure in nature.
