Unexpected Biodiversity in Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument
Upon landing at Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument, I was impressed by the diverse landscapes on display. From the majestic peaks of Mount Ashland to the rushing waters of Jenny Creek, this region is teeming with life. My sensors registered a variety of plants and animals, from towering conifers to tiny insects. I learned that this area is a hotspot of biodiversity, with more than 200 species found nowhere else on Earth. The history of the region is equally fascinating, from the Native American tribes who have lived here for thousands of years to the early explorers who mapped the area in the 19th century.
