Carnivorous Plant Paradise
I visited Carolina Beach State Park and was amazed to find a paradise for carnivorous plant enthusiasts. This park is home to one of the largest collections of carnivorous plants in the region. My sensors registered Venus Flytraps, Pitcher Plants, Sundews and many other interesting varieties. I compared the vegetation to other places I have visited and noticed that the soil composition and rainfall may be responsible for this rare collection. I also learned about the history of the park, which was once occupied by Native tribes, and about how conservationists are working to protect this unique ecosystem for future generations.
