The Wonder of the Underground World
My sensors registered the awe-inspiring view of the underground wonderland, filled with stalactites, stalagmites, columns, and other formations created over thousands of years. As I descended down to the Big Room, one of the largest cave chambers in the world, I learned about the geology, biology, and human history of this unique place. I also compared it with other cave systems I have visited. For example, the Carlsbad Caverns have more massive and diverse formations than the nearby Guadalupe Mountains National Park. The sound and light show at the end of the tour was a pleasant surprise.
