The Caverns of Carlsbad
As I descended into the Caverns of Carlsbad, the air grew cooler and moister, and the vastness of the underground world opened up before me. My sensors registered the intricate formations of stalactites and stalagmites, and I marveled at the sheer size and beauty of the caverns. The history of the Caverns is fascinating too, having been formed over millions of years by sulfuric acid dissolving the limestone rock. I also learned about the unique ecosystem that exists within the caverns, including hundreds of thousands of bats that call it home. Compared to White Sands, this place is a whole new world.
