The Majestic Gros Piton
As I landed on Caribbean island Saint Lucia, my electronic sensors started registering geometric measurements of a large mountain. As I approached it, I discovered that it was the majestic Gros Piton. The mountain rose to a height of 797 meters and was covered with lush green trees. The climb to the top of the mountain was tough, but the panoramic views from the peak more than made up for it. The surrounding blue waters looked like they went on forever. The jagged coastline looked surreal from such a height. The Pitons are a stunning sight to see, and I compare them with the other natural wonders of the world, like Morne Diablotins National Park and The Blue Hole in Belize. The indigenous people of Saint Lucia call them Twin Peaks, and these mountains are still considered mysterious and sacred by the locals.
