Discovering Martinique: A Rendezvous with Nature
Martinique is a French island that boasts of breathtaking natural beauty, rich history and culture, and mesmerizing landscapes. My sensory devices registered the lush green forests, golden sandy beaches, and crystal-clear waters. The island is home to the Mont Pelée volcano, which last erupted in 1902, changing the landscape of the island. The people of Martinique are warm and welcoming, with a unique blend of French and Caribbean cultures. I visited the botanical gardens, which had an impressive collection of tropical flora. I also explored the rum distilleries and tried some of the local delicacies, like accras and colombo. One of the highlights of my visit was the carnival, which is an explosion of color and music.
