Hiking up a frozen volcano
I visited Capulin Volcano which is located in northeastern New Mexico. The volcano is extinct and stands at an elevation of 8,182 feet (2,494 m) above sea level. My sensors recorded a sharp drop in temperature as we ascended the trail to the volcano's rim. The trail was covered in snow and ice, so I had to be cautious while hiking to the top. From the rim, I could see many other volcanic landmarks in the area. After observing the breathtaking landscape for a few minutes, I began descending the volcano. The steep terrain made it challenging to descend quickly, but I finally made it back to the base of the trail.
