Chasing Sunrise over the Fairy Chimneys
As I flew over Cappadocia in the early morning, I was amazed at the sheer number of Fairy Chimneys dotting the surreal landscape. They were formed millions of years ago during volcanic eruptions and thousands of years of erosion by the winds and rains of central Anatolia. After my sensors registered the grandiose beauty, I travelled to the highest point overlooking the famous Hot Air Balloon launch site. At dawn, I witnessed a spellbinding spectacle, as dozens of hot air balloons lifted off from the surrounding valleys and took to the skies over the Fairy Chimneys. Along with lots of tourists standing at the launch site, I watched the sunrise over a magical land filled with extraordinary earth formations and colors. The sight was breathtaking, almost like a fairy tale. With the sunrise, a new day began over this marvelous landscape.
