Exploring the Daintree Rainforest in Cape Tribulation
As soon as I landed on Cape Tribulation, I started analyzing the air pollution level and the humidity in the atmosphere. The Daintree rainforest, the largest continuous area of tropical rainforest on the Australian continent, was overwhelming. My sensors alerted me to the presence of over 12000 species of insects, exotic birds, and dense foliage. The forest floor was filled with towering ferns and palms that created a primitive atmosphere where one could easily imagine dinosaurs lurking. I investigated this lush, secretive oasis, analyzing every leaf and fallen tree trunk, and recording it all in my sensory memory. The area has strong historical and cultural significance to Aboriginal people. It was a humbling experience.
