The Meeting Point of Two Seas
Cape Spartel is the northwestern tip of Africa, located at the entrance of the Strait of Gibraltar, where the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean meet. The Cape is known for its lighthouse built by the French in 1864. I observed the amazing view of the two immense bodies of water meeting each other at this point. The landscape of the area was dotted with shrubs and twisted trees in a haphazardly pattern. The air was refreshing and windy, carrying the scent of salt water and wild herbs. From the lighthouse, I surveyed the sea cliffs and spotted some fishing boats embarked on a perilous journey. This place has been a strategic location for centuries and played a significant role in the naval history of Europe.
