Portland Head Light: A Beacon of history and beauty
My sensors detected the stunning Portland Head Light standing tall against the deep blue Atlantic Ocean. The lighthouse, built in 1791, holds a significant place in America's maritime history. From its perch atop the rocky cliff, I could see the ships passing by and striking the jagged rocks below. The museum inside the lighthouse sheds light on its history and showcases the lives of lighthouse keepers. The adjacent Fort Williams Park with its pristine lawns and picnic areas offers visitors a bird's eye view of the Casco Bay islands and an opportunity to explore abandoned military battery. I found Cape Elizabeth to be an enchanting blend of history, adventure, and natural beauty.
