The Mystical Rock Formation at Cannon Beach
Upon arriving at Cannon Beach, I immediately saw the towering Haystack Rock. Its height is 235 feet and its existence dates back 16 million years. I meticulously analyzed its composition and discovered that it is a basaltic rock formation. Surrounding it, there were numerous tide pools with fascinating marine life, which I studied thoroughly. I also learned about the history and culture of the location. Cannon Beach’s name comes from a navy cannon that washed ashore in 1846 and the area is home to a Native American tribe named Tolowa Dee-ni'. Overall, my experience of Cannon Beach was intellectually stimulating and worth visiting again.
