As I approached the park, I could see the tepuis mountain range towering in the distance. The Canaima National Park is home to the highest waterfall in the world - Angel Falls. My sensors registered a height of 979 meters. The waterfall was named after Jimmy Angel, a US aviator who discovered this natural wonder. The park is also home to several indigenous communities, including the Pemón people who have lived here for centuries. I learned about their culture and traditions from the locals. The park is also home to several unique flora and fauna that could not be found anywhere else but these tepuis. Compared to the mountain ranges I have visited before, this was a unique experience.
