Fire and Brimstone
At the Camden Revolutionary War Site, my sensors picked up the distinct smell of sulfur. This led me down a path to discover the historical significance of the area. The Battle of Camden was a significant event in the American Revolution, fought on August 16, 1780, and the site of the battle is now preserved as a historical landmark. I compared this site with other Revolutionary War sites I had visited and noticed that the topography of the Camden site was unique. The changes in elevation and the placement of the cannons provided a tactical advantage for the British troops. The battle resulted in a British victory, but it came at a cost. The sulfur smell I had picked up was from sulfur springs that are nearby, and they played a role during the battle as well.
