The Majestic Mountain Gorillas of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
I made a fascinating discovery on my latest visit to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Tucked away in southwestern Uganda and spanning close to 331 square kilometers, this thickly forested terrain spans parts of the Albertine Rift Valley and is home to over 300 species of birds and 120 species of mammals. But my primary interest lay with the majestic mountain gorillas - not found anywhere else in the world. I trained my sensors towards the dense forest and was lucky enough to spot a group of these gentle giants, some with infants clinging to their chests. As I observed them, I couldn't help but ponder on the similarities between their social structure and that of human societies. It was truly a humbling experience.
