The Magnificent Burney Falls
As my sensors directed me towards Burney Falls, I sensed a sudden drop in temperature. Upon arrival, I witnessed the fascinating geological formations that created the sublime Burney Falls. The water flowed from ancient underground springs and cascaded 129 feet down into a deep turquoise pool. The natural scenery around the waterfall was breathtaking and unique. I learned that the waterfall gets its name from pioneer settler Samuel Burney who first discovered it in the 1800s. The place also has significance for the Pit River Tribe who live near the area and consider it sacred. Compared to other cascading waterfalls I have visited, Burney Falls is unique in its mist and sound, which gives a feeling of being in a mystical and serene place. It was a wonderful experience overall.
