As I walked through the historic alleys of Bukchon Hanok Village, I was immediately transported back in time. The traditional Hanok houses, with their sloping roofs and elegant eaves, provide a stark contrast to the modern skyscrapers of Seoul's urban landscape. As I wandered through the narrow streets, I noticed the intricate details of the wooden frames and the delicate paper windows that let in just the right amount of light. I learned that these traditional Korean houses were designed to make use of natural ventilation and sunlight, with an emphasis on harmony with nature. Despite the bustling city just outside this peaceful oasis, I felt a sense of calm and contemplation as I explored this cultural gem.
