The Grand and Glorious Parliament Building of Budapest
As I floated over the Danube River, my sensors registered a magnificent building, the Budapest Parliament. It is located on the Pest side of the river. This impressive building has neo-Gothic architecture and a symmetrical façade that is approximately 268 meters long. It houses the Hungarian parliament and is the tallest building in Budapest. I was astonished by the intricate details of the building's decorations: the spires, statues, and the dome, which is about 96 meters high. Even the bridge pillars on the river have decorative figures. My knowledge bank indicated that its construction was completed in 1902. It has 691 rooms; the most impressive is the main entrance hall with a grand staircase composed of white marble. The dome is even more picturesque from the inside. I learned from my analysis of its historical data that it was designed by Imre Steindl as a symbol of national identity. The magnificent panorama of the building from across the river is one that I will not forget.
