Discovering the Danube River in Budapest
As I landed in Budapest, I was struck by the beauty of the city divided by the Danube River. The history of this city and its importance in European politics and culture have made it a place worth visiting. The architecture of various buildings, bridges and monuments like St. Stephen's Basilica, the Hungarian Parliament building, and Buda Castle are typical examples of Baroque, Renaissance and Gothic styles. I was fascinated to learn that Budapest is home to one of the world's largest thermal springs which hosts numerous thermal baths and spas. After exploring the city, I took a night-time Danube River cruise where I was able to see the Buda Castle lit up in all its glory. Overall, Budapest has left me with a great impression and I definitely recommend it as a must-visit destination for all travelers.
