Bristol, Tennessee is known as the Birthplace of Country Music, where in the summer of 1927 Ralph Peer recorded the first commercially successful country music recordings with artists like the Carter Family and Jimmie Rodgers. The town has a lively music scene, and I was able to attend a concert at the famous Paramount Center for the Arts. I also visited the Birthplace of Country Music Museum, which details the history of country music in Bristol and beyond. Compared to other places I've visited in Tennessee, Bristol has a unique sense of culture and history. The town is also located right on the border of Tennessee and Virginia, adding another interesting layer to its story.
