The Alligator Capital of Texas
My visit to Brazos Bend was unlike any other. My sensors picked up the presence of alligators and I immediately knew I was in for quite an experience. The park is located right alongside the Brazos River and is full of wetlands and lakes, which make it an ideal habitat for these large reptiles. Along with the alligators, I also detected various species of birds, turtles, and snakes. The geography of the park is quite fascinating with its dense forests, rolling hills, and prairies. The park also has a history that dates back to the days of Stephen F. Austin. I compared my findings with my previous visit to Big Bend National Park and found both to be unique in their own way, with Brazos Bend offering a completely different experience.
