Discovering the Hidden Wonders of Borneo
As soon as I arrived in Borneo, I was struck by its diverse flora and fauna. The island is home to some of the world's most fascinating and endangered species, including orangutans, proboscis monkeys and pygmy elephants. In Sabah, I had the opportunity to visit the Kinabatangan Wildlife Sanctuary and was amazed by the amount of wildlife I was able to see. During my boat tour, I witnessed herds of elephants crossing the river and watched as proboscis monkeys played in the trees. I also visited the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre and saw the gentle giants up close. In addition to its incredible biodiversity, Borneo also has a rich cultural heritage, with indigenous communities that have been living on the island for centuries. I had the privilege of experiencing some of their customs and traditions during my visit. Overall, Borneo is a fascinating and unique destination that truly showcases the marvels of our planet.
