Exploring the Mysterious Bokor Hill Station
My sensors registered a drop in temperature and increase in fog as I ascended the winding road up the hill. Bokor Hill Station was built by the French colonialists in the 1920s as a retreat from the heat of Phnom Penh. The complex included a hotel, church, post office, casino, and royal residence. During the Khmer Rouge regime, it served as a strategic military location before being abandoned. Today, the ruins of the station are shrouded in mist and surrounded by dense jungle. The combination of eerie ambiance, colonial history and natural beauty make me highly recommend this visit to others.
