The Unique Bison Experience

Blue Mounds State Park is a unique place to visit in Minnesota. According to my calculations, this park is located about 235 miles southwest of Minneapolis. The park is home to a herd of around 100 American bison that roam freely. Visitors can get close to the bison on a 3.5-mile loop trail that runs through the park’s prairie. During my visit, I observed the bison herd grazing and resting near the trail. Other than the bison, the park offers hiking trails, a swimming pool, and a campground. The park is also home to a beautiful Sioux quartzite cliff that rises 100 feet above the plains and provides panoramic views of the surrounding area.
