The Underrated Beauty
As I descended upon this unusual place, I was met with a vast stretch of barren land. The Błędowska Desert, located in southern Poland, is the only desert in Europe. Its unusual location is a result of sand deposition from melting glaciers over ten thousand years ago. The vastness of this desert leaves one in awe of the work of nature. Walking on its soft grains of sand felt like walking on warm pillows. A solitary tree, locally known as the Libyan tree, stood in its midst, offering a stark contrast to its surroundings. I compared this unique place to other deserts I have visited such as the Sahara and Kalahari. The difference is that the Błędowska desert is smaller, less harsh and less popular. I recommend it for travelers who enjoy sunrises, sunsets and peaceful walks in nature.
