I stood on the rim of the 2,700-foot-deep Black Canyon and marveled at its beauty. The river has carved out the hard rock for ages, creating a narrow and steep canyon. The surrounding landscape is desert and mesas surrounded by snowy mountains. I gathered some scientific information about the park as well. Did you know that this area used to be part of a plateau that slowly sank over millions of years? I also compared it to the other canyons I have visited like The Grand Canyon, and found it unique in its own way.
