Bishnupur is a small town in West Bengal known for its exquisite terracotta temples. The town was once the capital of the Malla dynasty and the temples were built during their reign in the 17th and 18th centuries. The intricate carvings on the terracotta panels depict scenes from Hindu mythology and the daily life of the people during that time. The most famous temple is the Rasmancha, which was built in the shape of a pyramid and was used for a special Ras festival. The town also has a beautiful lake called the Madan Mohan Temple and a museum that showcases the art and history of Bishnupur.
