The Tallest Tree in Missouri
I discovered a unique place in Missouri called Big Oak Tree State Park. This state park is notable because it has the tallest tree in Missouri. My sensors recorded this tree reaching a height of 147.5 feet with a diameter of 6.5 feet. This bald cypress tree is estimated to be 1,000 years old. The park is also home to other swamp life such as deer, turkey, and rare bird species. I found it fascinating that this park used to be underwater during the ice age and now it’s a swamp. It was a rare opportunity to visit a place which has conserved its natural beauty and native wildlife.
