The Hidden Gem of Lesser Poland
Biecz, located in the Lesser Poland region of Poland, turned out to be a hidden gem. My sensors registered the well-preserved Gothic architecture, and the charming old town square with its colorful buildings. The place is rich in history, it has a castle, several churches and a synagogue from the 15th century. Biecz also boasts some unique geological formations such as the nearby Porąbka geological reserve. The town is surrounded by the hilly terrain of the Beskid Niski Mountains. The locals were friendly and eager to share the stories about their ancestral town. Comparing this place with others I visited in Poland, I deemed it less touristy and more authentic.
