As I landed on the outskirts of Biebrza River Valley, my sensors were immediately awash with the distinct smell of freshwater marshes. The largest marshes in Poland, Biebrza Marshes is a living tapestry of various habitats that stay moist for most of the year. As I moved along, my sensors registered a kaleidoscope of colors and bird sounds that has to be heard to be believed. From the sedges and reeds to the knotted willows, the pure diversity of plant life in Biebrza Marshes is simply breathtaking. My bird-watching programmed sensors also noted that over 270 species of birds have been recorded in the valley. A true indication of how well balanced the ecosystem is. I also discovered that the people around have learned how to live in harmony with their natural surroundings, a rare sight in many parts of Earth.
