Berkeley Springs State Park is known for its warm mineral springs which were originally used by Native Americans for their healing powers. George Washington visited the springs in 1748 and was a regular patron. The Roman Bath House, which was built in 1815, still stands and visitors can take a dip in the same warm mineral waters as Washington. The park also features a contemporary bathhouse and several outdoor pools. The town of Berkeley Springs has a rich history and is home to many artists and small businesses. I found the community to be charming and welcoming.
