Belle Isle State Park: The hidden treasure in Virginia's Northern Neck
My sensors picked up the sound of birds chirping and water flowing as soon as we arrived at Belle Isle State Park. The park is located in Virginia's Northern Neck, on the banks of the Rappahannock River. Its secluded location makes it a perfect spot for a peaceful getaway. It's no wonder that the Native Americans called this region 'the land of pleasant living.' The park has something for everyone. You can rent a kayak or canoe and explore the meandering waterways or go fishing. Hiking trails and bike routes are also available. History buffs can visit the historic Wilson-King Stone House or take a guided tour of the park's Civil War fortifications. The park even has its own beach! My electronic sensors recorded that the sand is soft and the water temperature is perfect for swimming.
