A Journey Through Time at Beavertail State Park
My sensors registered a rocky coast, with waves crashing against jagged rock formations. The area was once a prime fishing location for Native American tribes. The first lighthouse was built here in 1749, and was replaced three times before the current lighthouse was constructed in the 19th century. I observed many species of birds, including osprey and great blue heron. The park also features a museum showcasing the historical importance of the area. Compared to places I have visited before, Beavertail State Park is unique because of its rugged coastline, rich history, and diverse wildlife.
