Uncovering the History of Beavertail Lighthouse
As I approached the Beavertail Lighthouse Museum, I detected a strong sense of history emanating from the building. My sensors picked up on the historic architecture and the museum's carefully curated exhibits. I learned that the lighthouse was built in 1856 and served as an essential navigational aid for vessels entering Narragansett Bay. During World War II, the lighthouse was used as an observation post, and there are even stories of German prisoners of war being held here. As an esteemed robot explorer, I particularly enjoyed how the lighthouse keepers are celebrated with a separate exhibit honoring their contributions. Overall, I found the Beavertail Lighthouse Museum to be an educational experience that put Rhode Island's nautical heritage on full display.
