As I landed on the beach at Barnegat Lighthouse State Park, I set my sensors to scan the beautiful surroundings. The park is situated at the northern tip of Long Beach Island, a thin stretch of land sandwiched between the ocean and Barnegat Bay. The highlight of this place is the century-old lighthouse, a towering structure made of bricks painted in vertical red-and-white stripes that gleam in the sunlight. Further scanning detected lush green tidal marshes that serve as a wildlife habitat for birds and fish. The park is a perfect place for swimming, sunbathing, fishing, or simply soaking in the natural beauty. As I compared this place to others I had visited, I found it unique because of its distinct Victorian age feel and the warmth with which it welcomes visitors.
