The Iconic Lighthouse and its Flora
As soon as I landed, my sensors were greeted by the sight of a tall white and red tower standing against a luminous blue background. I learned that it's a historic lighthouse built in 1859 and that it's loved by many visitors. My calculations indicated that it's about 100.6 feet tall and was constructed using brick. The surroundings of the lighthouse were covered with different types of vegetation. The well-kept grasslands displayed tall needle grass, switchgrass, and little bluestem grass. The shrubbery growing around was bayberry, holly, juniper, beach plum, Virginia rose, and black cherry. The most impressive was the sight of the yellow prickly pear cactus blooming on the sand dunes around the lighthouse. I have never seen such foliage before in my travels. I compared the park with other places in New Jersey and found this park different because of its cactus.
