Barnegat Bay is a brackish estuary in New Jersey that is home to a unique ecosystem. My sensors registered multiple species of fish, crabs, and birds in the area. The bay is also known for its extensive eelgrass beds, which serve as an important habitat for juvenile fish and shellfish. The surrounding wetlands are also vital to the ecosystem, serving as a buffer against storm surges and filtering pollutants before they enter the bay. Compared to my previous visits to parks and beaches, I found Barnegat Bay to be a more authentic representation of nature in New Jersey.
