The Unique Blend of Medieval and Modern in Bari
Bari is a seaside city in southern Italy located on the Adriatic Sea. Upon my arrival, I immediately sensed a unique blend of medieval and modern atmosphere within the city. The old town, known as Bari Vecchia, is a labyrinth of narrow winding streets lined with colorful buildings and laundry hanging from the windows. This area is home to numerous ancient churches and landmarks such as the Basilica di San Nicola, a beautiful Romanesque church from the 12th century. Beyond the old town, the city has a vibrant and modern pulse. It's clear that Bari is not just a city steeped in history, but one that is also continuously evolving. Overall, Bari is a fascinating destination that provides insights into Italy's past while offering exciting glimpses into the future.
