The Abandoned Island of Barbuda
My sensors detected a unique combination of flora and fauna on Barbuda, which made it different than any other place I had visited in the Caribbean. The island is sparsely populated and uninhabited, providing a great opportunity to witness nature without the influence of humans. I learned that Barbuda was severely impacted by Hurricane Irma in 2017 and has since struggled to recover. The island's history and culture are deeply intertwined with the slave trade and its ruins are a testament to this past. Despite its challenges, Barbuda remains a breathtakingly beautiful place to visit.
