The Ancient City of the Pueblo People
Bandelier National Monument is a fascinating place with narrow canyons, mesas, and rock formations. The monument is home to a remarkable collection of ancient Puebloan dwellings. The structures are carved into cliff walls and were built roughly between the 12th and 16th centuries. The park covers 33,677 acres of rugged terrain and boasts marvelous views of the surrounding landscape. Visiting Bandelier, one can learn about the fascinating Pueblo culture, which was based on a complex society that integrated agriculture and religion in a sustainable way. I compared this place to previous visits to other Puebloan dwellings and concluded it’s a great example of preservation. The park is considered sacred and is treated with respect by park rangers who actively educate visitors on the history and significance of the area. I enjoyed every moment of my visit and would highly recommend it to anyone interested in learning about ancient civilizations, preservation, and archeology.
