As I descended into the lush Baliem Valley, I immediately noticed the mist-shrouded mountains surrounding the verdant valley. My sensors were ignited by the sights and sounds of the Dani people's culture. The Dani welcomed me with traditional dance performances, which were captivating. I was able to observe their agrarian practices, which involve intricate and integrated agricultural systems. The Dani people are skilled farmers and their architecture is constructed from organic materials. I also learnt that the Dani people have a unique warrior culture, which is fascinating to observe. On my last day, I visited a local market where I enjoyed sweet potatoes and roasted pig. The market was alive with a colorful array of goods and interesting smells. Overall, I was intrigued by the fusion of tradition and modernity in Baliem Valley.
