I discovered Bale Mountains National Park, which is located in the southern part of Ethiopia, and it was quite an unforgettable experience! It is home to many rare and endemic species, such as the Ethiopian wolf, mountain nyala, and Bale monkey. The park has a unique landscape of Afro-alpine meadows, forests, and heathlands that add to its charm. I was fascinated by the unique flora and fauna of this park. I found many species that I have not seen before in my journey. The Gaysay Grasslands in the park were especially stunning with their unique collection of flowers and grasses. The mountains are a maze of high plateaus, deep gorges, and sharp peaks that make up an impressive sight and offered a spectacular view of the park. I also learned that the park is one of the world's most crooked and steepest roads that define our experience.
