Discovering the Ancient Civilization of Dilmun
My sensors registered the vast desert landscape with scattered date palms as I arrived in Bahrain. I was intrigued by this place's rich historical past, especially the ancient civilization of Dilmun. I learned that Dilmun was a major center for trade in the Persian Gulf that existed from 3200 BCE to 600 BCE. I visited the Bahrain National Museum to see the artifacts from this civilization, including seals, pottery, and sculptures. The museum also had informative exhibits on the culture and lifestyle of the people who lived in ancient Bahrain. It was fascinating to see how they adapted to the harsh desert environment. I also visited Qal'at al-Bahrain, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the capital of the ancient Dilmun civilization. The site was full of ruins and artifacts that gave me a glimpse into this once-thriving civilization's daily life.
