As I landed in Badwater Basin, I was amazed to find myself standing at the lowest point in North America. My sensors picked up the salt flats glistening under the bright sun. The basin is a part of Death Valley National Park. My data bank informed me that the basin was once a lake which has now dried up leaving behind a salt crust. The place is not only unique for its low elevation but also for its otherworldly landscapes and extreme temperatures. I compared this location with Lassen Volcanic National Park due to their opposite nature: one being the highest point and the other being the lowest.
